秘密的電碼 The Secret Code (Copy) 秘密的電碼 The Secret Code 2016 Lithograph 700x500mm 樹能說故事，他們記錄環境、人際關係和文化價值。我們能從觀察樹生長的排列、位置、形狀以至開花的時間和數量等等資料去發現一些重要的變化。 「木帛書」是一本記錄木棉的圖騰柱。 可能是因為城市的發展，樹木的地位開始減低。興建一條馬路然後在兩旁種兩排樹，彷彿是例行公事。植樹活動的出現亦某程度上反映我們對被砍伐樹木的內疚感，當我們強調樹木可以幫忙減少溫室氣體，與木棉的關係卻愈來愈疏遠，好像忘記了一些樹木的基本功能，例如遮陰擋雨，又可取用棉絮，曬乾的木棉花還能藥用，但現在我們遮陰擋雨有涼亭，棉絮四處漂時又會被居民投訴。我們對古樹的尊重和感恩足夠嗎？ Trees could do their storytelling, recording the environment, interpersonal relationships and cultural values. We can tell material changes of trees from information like how they are grown in row, where they are grown, the shapes they grow into, as well as the flowering time. Book of Ceiba can be described as a trunk of totem that documents these red cotton trees. The status of trees start to go down, perhaps because of the urban development. Construction of a road is followed by planting two rows of trees on the two sides, as if this was a routine. Tree planting campaigns pop up to reflect, to a certain extent, our feeling of guiltiness in chopping the said creatures down. While we stress trees could help reduce greenhouse gases, relationship with ceiba is driven away even further. It would be like forgetting the basic functions of some trees, for example, shading us from rains and sunshine, supplying the fibres of the cotton trees, and even resorting their dried ceiba flowers to medicine. Yet, now we can stand under pavilions from rain and heat; and the everywhere-dispersion of cotton fibres is now complained by residents. Seemingly it was attributable to the corrosion by fungi despite the rescue to the tree, which ended up ineffective and taken out by having it shattered into pieces. Environmental groups pointed out the over-a-hundred-year-old tree was still healthy over the past 2 years, compared to by then. Some Taipo residents doubted that if the relevant department had not fell short of its performance of its duties and its protection to the tree. This group of people was even furious that the authority had destroyed their collective memory in a single day without any consultation made in advance and demanded an explanation. We can tell material changes of trees from information like how they are grown in row, where they are grown, the shapes they grow into, as well as the flowering time. Book of Ceiba can be described as a trunk of totem that documents these red cotton trees. The status of trees start to go down, perhaps because of the urban development. Construction of a road is followed by planting two rows of trees on the two sides, as if this was a routine. Tree planting campaigns pop up to reflect, to a certain extent, our feeling of guiltiness in chopping the said creatures down. While we stress trees could help reduce greenhouse gases, relationship with ceiba is driven away even further. It would be like forgetting the basic functions of some trees, for example, shading us from rains and sunshine, supplying the fibres of the cotton trees, and even resorting their dried ceiba flowers to medicine. Yet, now we can stand under pavilions from rain and heat; and the everywhere-dispersion of cotton fibres is now complained by residents. Environmental groups pointed out the over-a-hundred-year-old tree was still healthy over the past 2 years, compared to by then. Some Taipo residents doubted that if the relevant department had not fell short of its performance of its duties and its protection to the tree. This group of people was even furious that the authority had destroyed their collective memory in a single day without any consultation made in advance and demanded an explanation. Dream Scattering/ Entrance of memories 2009年，大埔運頭里一棵130歲的木棉古樹被砍，堪稱「大埔一號」的全港最大木棉樹王，疑因樹根遭真菌侵蝕，經連月搶救無效後，昨慘遭分屍」被砍掉。有環保團體指該棵百年古樹兩年前仍然健康，有大埔區居民質疑是部門失職、護樹不力所致，更怒斥當局未經諮詢便在一日內摧毀他們的集體回憶，要求交代，亦有網民在FaceBook設專頁悼念這棵陪伴大埔學生及居民古樹。 In 2009, a 130-year-old ceiba tree at Wan Tou Lane, Taipo, recognised as the largest of its kind in Hong Kong named “No. 1 at Taipo”, was chopped down. Seemingly it was attributable to the corrosion by fungi despite the rescue to the tree, which ended up ineffective and taken out by having it shattered into pieces. Environmental groups pointed out the over-a-hundred-year-old tree was still healthy over the past 2 years, compared to by then. Some Taipo residents doubted that if the relevant department had not fell short of its performance of its duties and its protection to the tree. This group of people was even furious that the authority had destroyed their collective memory in a single day without any consultation made in advance and demanded an explanation. We can tell material changes of trees from information like how they are grown in row, where they are grown, the shapes they grow into, as well as the flowering time. Book of Ceiba can be described as a trunk of totem that documents these red cotton trees. The status of trees start to go down, perhaps because of the urban development. Construction of a road is followed by planting two rows of trees on the two sides, as if this was a routine. Tree planting campaigns pop up to reflect, to a certain extent, our feeling of guiltiness in chopping the said creatures down. While we stress trees could help reduce greenhouse gases, relationship with ceiba is driven away even further. It would be like forgetting the basic functions of some trees, for example, shading us from rains and sunshine, supplying the fibres of the cotton trees, and even resorting their dried ceiba flowers to medicine. Yet, now we can stand under pavilions from rain and heat; and the everywhere-dispersion of cotton fibres is now complained by residents.
